EduCon 2026Alternative Approaches for Success of any Student
Participants will engage in an interactive session reviewing various models for student engagement and success that have been successful for opportunity youth and students enrolled in alternative settings. Session opens with an overview of the various non-traditional instructional models that exist within the School District's Opportunity Network. Then will pivot for the majority of the session to discuss how these models (continuation, transition, acceleration, etc.) create an environment for increased student success for students who have not found academic success previously.
Conversational Practice
Participants will co-create a shareable resource that identifies various models, strategies, protocols that can be used to increase student engagement and academic success (format TBD - wiki, jamboard, etc.). During the session, time will be available for small group interactions to extend learning.
