Njemele Anderson
About Me
Mrs. Anderson believes that teaching is a revolutionary act. It should be viewed as nothing less because the destinies of teacher and student are linked; thus, it is imperative that students be viewed as being capable of success in order to effect change. In addition to believing that every student deserves and is capable of achieving success, she is passionate about culturally relevant education and preparing students for the globalized world and their role in it, which they will undoubtedly face as they grow into adults.
She currently serves as an English teacher at the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber in the Wynnefield section of the city. Mrs. Anderson is also the founder of Linked Destinies Academy LLC, an education-based business that provides professional development, teacher coaching, and student support. Her goal is to open a private school with a sliding fee scale in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia. Linked Decstines Academy will provide a student-centered, liberatory, and community-focused education. While also serving as the centerpiece of the community.
In addition to her roles as Educator and school leader, she has served on the boards of two organizations: The Wynnefield Community Neighborhood Association, as co-chair of the Zoning committee, and currently as an Advisory board member of The Philadelphia Writing Project. Most recently, she has been awarded the 2024 Educator of the Year by The Philadelphia Citizen, the 2025 Distinguished Teacher Lindback Award from the School District of Philadelphia, and a 2025 Abolitionist Teacher Network grant from Professor Bettina Love.
